UMNO has started its general assembly yesterday 24.03.2009 and will be continue until 28.03.2009.
From what i have watched from TV, Internet and read from news paper it is clear that Najib has asked UMNO to 'change'.
The point is, what kind of change is he referring to? His speech revealed UMNO members must change from their practise - exercise or culture of bribery to clean politic. So he admits that UMNO have been heavily involved in money politic and he reason out on of the factor for UMNO or BN lost in last general election was due to this money politic.
For the younger generation 'change' means more then what Najis tried to say. Change means open the party to other race as well, change means abolish discrimination, change means give equal rights, change means Kedaulatan Rakyat and not kedaulatan melayu, change means take a journey form dark cave to enlightenment.
until umno realise the real meaning of 'change' they have no future ........

In my opinion, as long as the government still support our malay friends, they will not improve in their lifestyles, etc. Ya, i agree with you that to change, they have to really abolished the 'bumiputra and non-bumiputra' issue. Examples of this issue is abolishing the quota of elite malay schools such as MRSM (MAKTAB RENDAH SAINS MARA), instead, they should open to more other races rather than giving the worthless 10% quota. Same thing goes to UiTM (UNIVERSITI TEKNOLOGI MARA), students shouldn't protest about the quota issue as we are no longer in the 'Hidup Melayu' , 'Hidup Cina', or even 'Hidup India' era. Off the road, we can see 50% discount shoplots for bumiputra. Why they emphasis so much on bumiputra? Aren't we suppose to be rakyat malaysia?

In my opinion, it is difficult to ask UMNO to change.
In order to change a political party, must have a very good leader. You mentioned about racism and equal right for all the Malaysian. Welcome to 1 Malaysia, this was the first thing Najib promised after his inauguration.
In the midst of UMNO's internal crisis in 1987, a rally by UMNO Youth led by Naijb was held in Kampung Baru, Kuala Lumpur. Anti-Chinese sentiments were expressed openly during the rally with placard carrying slogans like "May 13 has begun". In a widely documented speech Najib vowed to bathe the keris with Chinese blood. The keris is a traditional Malay weapon that is often used as a symbol for Malay nationalism.
In conclusion, he is racist. He hates Chinese.
How can he be neutral and treat all the races in Malaysia equally?
Ans: Yes. He can. He is just pretending.
How Malaysian can have unity, which is oneness. when we have a extreme bias Prime Minister?
